Open Position
Director, Financial Institutions
New York, NY · Full-time · On-site
We are looking for a Director to lead and grow EBC's relationships with banks, wealth management platforms, family offices, and other financial institutions. This is a fully in-person role based at our Upper East Side office.
The ideal candidate comes from a bank or financial institution — and brings genuine fluency in how wealth managers, trust officers, and private bankers think about art as an asset class. An interest in or experience with the art market is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage EBC's institutional pipeline across private banks, RIAs, trust companies, family offices, and wealth platforms
Serve as the primary relationship holder for financial institution partners — identifying referral opportunities and positioning EBC as the go-to art advisory resource for their UHNW clients
Collaborate closely with Evan and the advisory team to translate client financial profiles into art market strategy
Represent EBC at industry events, conferences, and client-facing engagements in both the financial and art worlds
Support pitch development, proposals, and materials targeting institutional audiences
Stay current on art market trends, auction results, and asset-level developments relevant to wealth clients
Qualifications
8–10 years of experience at a bank, wealth management firm, or financial institution; art market experience a strong plus
Deep understanding of UHNW client dynamics and how financial advisors and private bankers approach alternative assets
Existing relationships within the private banking or wealth management community preferred
Strong communication and presentation skills — comfortable operating at the C-suite and family office level
Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment
Genuine interest in art and the conviction to speak about it credibly with clients
